How do gemstones in jewelry improve you health and emotional well-being?

Crystals and gemstones have always been known for their spiritual and healing qualities and it is a fascinating study to learn about individual stones and how they can enhance and improve our day to day life. We recently started working with Bess Nathan Rice, jewelry maker extraordinaire, and have been very curious about the stones she chooses for her pieces and decided to do some looking into the gemstones she uses and what they do to enhance our state of being.

Let’s start with our personal favorite! Pink Tourmaline is an extraordinary crystal and also the heart chakra stone. It helps heal the heart from old emotional wounds and cleanses the emotional body of destructive feelings. It releases guilt, worry, depression and anxieties, and guides those emotions into self-love. It is also know to bring love and humor into your life and kindle feelings of joy, hope, comfort and support. I don’t think there could be a better stone to get us through these most challenging of days.

Not only is pink tourmaline full of healing qualities, the stone is one of the prettiest we’ve seen. Many are very saturated in color, but we are particularly fond of these blush colored stones that are so feminine and complementary to most skin types.

Kyanite is an excellent stone for meditation and attunement. It does not retain negative vibrations or energy so is good for balancing the chakras and traquilizing energy in the body. It helps to speak your truth with clarity and is used for healing throat and voice ailments. Green Tourmaline has a lovely vibration that stimulates happiness and joy for life! Its metaphysical properties strongly promote compassion, particularly towards yourself. It is a gorgeous green crystal that comes is various shades. It is the same color as the heart chakra and is an earth energy stone that connects you to the earth and Mother Nature.

Last, but not least…there is the Diamond and a “Girls Best Friend”! It is known as the King of the gemstones with exceptional power and their miraculous abilities. The Ancient Greeks referred to the stone as “adamas” meaning invincible. Diamonds are also known for warding off fears and protecting its wearer of danger. They are known for detoxifying all of the body's systems, rebalancing the metabolism, and building up stamina and strength. Its strengthening properties are beneficial for the brain, nerves, and sensory organs as well

As the famous Persian poet Hafiz wrote “The Rainbow is confined in it Forever”. That about sums it up for the diamond. Want, need, must have criteria has been met.
