Growing up, Sarah spent many years working on a chicken farm in Chico, Ca and vowed to never return to farm life. Well, over the years she has returned to her roots and lives on a working farm with her chickens, miniature horse Party Girl, bees, goats and a sprawling vegetable garden. Farm living is a lot of work, but worth it as it brings us back to a simpler way of life, healthy living and a connection with mother nature and the community.
Located in Sonoma, we provide locally grown products to our restaurants and purveyors, and preserve as much of the produce as we can to use throughout the year in our Chateau Sonoma pantry products. The cherry tomatoes are harvested and used for our Moroccan Tomato Jam, plums trees supply us with fruit for our Plum/Elderflower jam and the honey provided by our bees is harvested annually from the hives. During the peak season the farm supplies Chateau Sonoma with vibrant greens, flowers and eggs. We will keep you posted with what is available each week.
We will continue to add products to our pantry that are inspired by our love of France including olive oil, fig vinegar and herbs de Provence.
THE Pantry at Chateau Sonoma
With sustainability being our number one goal, we developed a line of pantry items to preserve left over fruit from our harvest. Our Moroccan tomato jam has become our number one seller, and continues to be one of our favorite cheese pairings.
What started as a simple way to reduce waste turned into a complete line of farm preserves. We are excited to be adding olive oil, honey, and specialty salts to our pantry items this fall.
